Ingredients

1 small onion, chopped2 tablespoons plus 1-1/2 teaspoons butter1 cup uncooked instant rice1 cup water1 teaspoon beef bouillon granules1/4 teaspoon garlic powder1/4 teaspoon pepper2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheeseFresh marjoram sprig and shaved Parmesan cheese, optional

Preparation

In a small saucepan, saute onion in butter until tender. Stir in the rice, water, bouillon, garlic powder and pepper; bring to a boil.

Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese. Garnish with a sprig of marjoram and shaved Parmesan cheese if desired.
