Ingredients
7 cups thinly sliced peeled tart apples (about 7 medium)1 cup sugar1 tablespoon all-purpose flour1 teaspoon ground cinnamonDash salt1/4 cup water1 package (9 ounces) yellow cake mix3/4 cup quick-cooking oats1/3 cup butter, softened1/4 cup packed brown sugar1/4 teaspoon baking powder1/4 teaspoon baking sodaVanilla ice cream
Preparation
Place apples in a greased 2-1/2 qt. shallow baking dish. In a small bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt; sprinkle over apples. Drizzle with water. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, oats, butter, brown sugar, baking powder and baking soda. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
